Kico Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Kico ("Kico", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use Kico's fitness-focused courses, workout-sharing features, voice rooms, posts, comments, messaging features, moderation tools, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We May Collect
1.1 Account and Profile Information
When you create or maintain an account, we may collect information such as your username, display name, profile photo, email address, account identifiers, login credentials or authentication tokens, and profile information you choose to provide.
1.2 User Content
We may process content you choose to create, upload, publish, or send through Kico, including:
- workout notes, routine updates, and exercise records;
- photos, videos, and progress clips;
- course-related notes, questions, and discussions;
- comments, messages, and other written communications;
- voice-room titles, room participation information, timestamps, and audio data technically necessary to provide real-time voice functionality;
- reports, block actions, appeals, and other safety-related submissions.
If Kico records or stores voice-room audio beyond what is technically necessary to provide the live feature, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
1.3 Fitness-Related Information You Choose to Share
Kico may contain user-submitted information about workouts, exercise habits, routines, progress, and training preferences. You decide what you submit. Depending on what you choose to post, this information may reveal details about your physical activity or lifestyle.
Please avoid sharing medical records, diagnoses, treatment information, or other highly sensitive health information unless a feature clearly requires it and you understand how it will be handled.
1.4 Device, Usage, and Technical Information
When you use the Service, we may automatically receive technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone, IP address, network information, crash data, diagnostic logs, feature interactions, session timestamps, and similar usage information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Kico.
1.5 Communications With Support
If you contact us, we may collect the information in your message, your contact details, attachments you provide, and information reasonably necessary to respond to or investigate your request.
1.6 Safety and Moderation Information
We may process reports, moderation decisions, blocked-account relationships, enforcement history, suspected fraud or abuse signals, and related information to maintain community safety and enforce our rules.
2. How We Use Information
We may use information for purposes including:
- creating, authenticating, and managing accounts;
- providing posts, course content, workout records, voice rooms, comments, messaging, and other requested features;
- displaying content according to product functionality and your settings;
- maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and improving the Service;
- personalizing feature organization or content presentation based on activity within Kico, where permitted;
- detecting spam, fraud, abuse, security threats, and violations of our rules;
- reviewing reports, handling blocking and moderation actions, and supporting appeals;
- communicating with you about service updates, safety notices, support requests, and important account matters;
- complying with legal obligations and responding to valid legal requests;
- protecting the rights, safety, property, and integrity of Kico, our users, and others.
3. Legal Bases Where Required
Where data protection law requires a legal basis for processing, Kico may rely on one or more of the following, depending on the purpose and jurisdiction:
- Performance of a contract: to provide the Service you request and administer your account;
- Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, moderate, improve, and protect Kico where those interests are not overridden by your rights;
- Consent: where you choose to provide consent for a specific processing activity and consent is required;
- Legal obligations: where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law;
- Protection of vital interests or other lawful grounds: where recognized by applicable law.
4. How Information May Be Shared
4.1 With Other Users
Information you choose to publish may be visible to other users according to the feature and your settings. This may include profile information, posts, photos, videos, workout notes, comments, and your participation in certain discussions or voice rooms.
Private messages or non-public content are intended for the recipients or audiences you select, subject to moderation, safety, legal, and technical processing described in this Policy.
4.2 With Service Providers
We may share information with vendors or service providers that help us operate Kico, such as cloud hosting, storage, content delivery, authentication, communications, crash diagnostics, analytics, security, moderation, and customer support providers. These providers may process information only for authorized purposes and subject to appropriate contractual or legal safeguards where required.
4.3 For Safety, Legal, and Compliance Reasons
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests; enforce our Terms; investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Kico, our users, or others.
4.4 Business Transfers
If Kico is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate protections.
5. Public Content and Visibility
Content posted publicly may be viewed, copied, captured, or reshared by others. Please consider this before posting. Removing content from Kico does not necessarily remove copies previously saved or shared by other users outside our control.
6. Voice Rooms
To provide voice rooms, Kico may process technical and participation data such as room identifiers, account identifiers, connection status, timestamps, and real-time audio data. Audio may pass through servers or service providers necessary to transmit the conversation.
If a voice feature is recorded, transcribed, or stored for moderation, safety, accessibility, or another purpose, Kico will provide notice or obtain consent where required by applicable law.
7. Reporting, Blocking, and Moderation
When you report a user or content, we may process the report, relevant content, account information, message or room context, and related technical information to investigate and respond. In some cases, we may preserve relevant records for safety, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
Blocking may cause Kico to maintain information necessary to enforce the block between accounts.
8. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Service, maintaining account history, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, and enforcing our agreements.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data, whether an account remains active, legal requirements, safety needs, backup cycles, and whether information is needed to investigate abuse or enforce our Terms.
Deleted content may remain temporarily in backups or restricted systems until it is overwritten or no longer needed, subject to applicable law.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. However, no online service or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You should use a strong password, protect your login credentials, and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
10. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on the features available and the law that applies to you, you may be able to:
- access, correct, or update certain account information;
- delete content you have posted;
- adjust available privacy or visibility settings;
- block other accounts;
- request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of certain personal information;
- object to certain processing or request portability where applicable;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- appeal certain privacy or moderation decisions where applicable;
- lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority.
To make a privacy request, contact kico.support@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. Some information may be retained where legally permitted or required, including for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
11. Children’s Privacy
Kico is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age required for online services in a user's jurisdiction where that age is higher. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age without legally valid authorization.
If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of this section, contact us at kico.support@gmail.com so we can review and take appropriate action.
12. International Data Transfers
Kico and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
Kico may contain links to or rely on third-party services. Those services may process information under their own privacy policies. This Policy does not govern independent third parties that Kico does not control.
14. Do Not Share Sensitive Information Unnecessarily
Kico is built for everyday fitness sharing, not for storing medical records. Avoid posting sensitive personal information, medical diagnoses, treatment documents, precise home addresses, government identifiers, financial credentials, or other information that is not necessary for your use of the Service.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Service, technology, legal requirements, safety practices, or business operations. If changes are material, we will provide notice in a manner appropriate to the circumstances where required by law. The updated Policy will state a new effective date.
